In these last day we need to keep close to Jehovah. We need to bond to those that seek kingdom intrerset, not the interest of money or selfish interest. I have been out in the world and in this selfish world you can have friends but not friends that you can trust. I think that is why we should seek God fearing brothers and sister. Like Johnathan and David (1 Sam 18:1,3) Jehovah’s Organization is the only place I personally know of where I can find true friends, ones that understand me, what I am going through and we all have a centeral purpose not for selfish gain but to serve the most high God Jehovah.

Today’s text is so great – 1John 3:20 – “God is greater than our hearts and knows all things” These words hold very true to my heart. For years I have held back from having a closer relationship with Jehovah because I held so much anger at myself in. We are difinetly harder on ourselves then Jehovah is on us. Once I came to that reality it was like a heavy load was lifted. I am so glad and privileged to be back in Jehovah’s Loving Organization!!! Jehovah is a loving, gracious, mericful God!!!! I just want to scream to the top of my voice “I LOVE YOU JEHOVAH MY GOD!!!!!

Beautiful, Zena. Especially in our struggles to become a witness, we sometimes are very hard on ourselves. I remember all the anxieties that I had in working towards baptism. I let them get the best of me, to the point of getting sick w/ulcerative colitis. I had to go into the hospital as the ulcers were bleeding. I remember when I came home from the hospital, I looked up “ulcerative colitis” in a medical book. I’ll never forget what it said: “Can be connected to ones emotions….a person needs to ask why they are being so hard on themselves.” I started to cry. I realized that I was trying so hard to carry my “own load,” that I was not “throwing my burdens on Jehovah.” I have since relied on Jehovah to carry my burdens for me and I have not had another episode w/the disease since. Your comment just spoke to me, Zena, and I wanted to let you know that I have felt what you feel. As you say, “Jehovah is a loving, gracious, mericful God!!!!” I too, Zena say loudly w/you, “I LOVE YOU JEHOVAH MY GOD!!! :)

I would very much like to join the chorus, Zena and Karen, in shouting loudly, “I LOVE YOU JEHOVAH MY GOD”! I LOVE YOU JEHOVAH MY GOD! I LOVE YOU JEHOVAH MY GOD!”

I just love your comments, Zena and Karen! I love your name, too, Zena. It was also my mother-in-law’s name . . . I’m sure you’re aware of this, but I will mention it anyway — the word Zena is from the Hebrew; it occurs twice in the Bible (Hebrew Scriptures), in Proverbs and Micah, and it means ‘to walk privately with your God.’ Isn’t that wonderful?!! I didn’t know that about Zena’s name Sandra, thanks for sharing that. If we all join hands we could all sing loudly, “I LOVE YOU JEHOVAH MY GOD” together…how about it?! :)

Thanks Sandra, Now when people say “Oh you are the Princess Warrior” I will come back with the reply nope it is HEbrew for “to walk with Jehovah my God Privately” That is awesome!!!! I am so excited to use that!!! Maybe this will help give me a chance to informal witness.

“Caleb has followed Jehovah fully” Deut. 1:36 Agian how important that I follow Jehovah fully in everything I do. In this world we live in today it becomes harder and harder to rely on Jehovah with the so may streeses that are put on us. Thanks to the Faithful and Discreet slave they remind us of how much more important that we keep our faith strong and rely more then we ever did upon Jehovah!! In this world it is not ever going to be easier but for those that think that right now is easy becareful you are not ensnared by one of Satan cunning traps. We must stay strong and rely strongly upon Jehovah and to stay ever so close to his organization!!!!

I like the scripture in today’s text “Do all things for God’s glory” – 1 Cor. 10:31. Many of us when we go to the meetings and ga out in service this is a very easy thing to do. However what about when we are at home or at work. Do we do ALL things for God’s Glory on these occasions? DO we constantly ask ourselves “what would Jehovah want us to do?” when we are faced with an issue that would compormise our faith. This little scripture to me has a very strong meaning.

      November 17, 2009 at 8:22 am | #9

I agree, Zena, 1 Cor. 10:31 is one of MANY precious gems found only in God’s word. Prov. 2:3-5 helps us to see that Jehovah views his truth found in the Bible as “hid treasures.” He values the gift of knowledge as a valuable thing, not to be given to just anyone who doesn’t appreciate the gift he gives. We must show ourselves worthy of receiving these valuable gems…what precious gifts they are. I appreciated your bringing attention to this scripture, Zena, thankyou. :)

Col. 2:3 “Carefully concealed in him are all the treasures of wisdom and of Knowledge.” We must Follow the Christ and have a firm hold on our faith in him. Through Christ Jesus we find all the wisdom and knowledge of the father – Jehovah God. We must be teachable to gain these hidden treasures, we must take a stand against Satan if we don’t want to succumb to his cunning schemes.

Mathew 24:14 Says “And this good news will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations: And the end will come” That means for me whether its raining or not I keep following the command that Jesus Christ left for us in Mathew 28:19-20.

Billy Bro your experience reminds all difficulties that I faced when I was growing up as a young troublesome kid. I was very young to have a strong hold in the bible teachings but it only it resonates now why I stayed in Jehovah’s love. “Faith is the assure expectation of things hope for, the evident demonstration of realities though not beheld” Hebrews 11: 1. I’m saying that because according to your message I can feel the pains you went through when I close my ayes where life is on a discontinued state and you are fighting back for it at same time people are discouraging you about the outcome of your battle.

Yes the ministry is vital. We need to tell the wicked what’s in store. People still dont know who Jehovah is. For Jehovah to do anything the Good news needs declaring FIRST. nO ONE WILL HAVE THE EXCUSE ‘NO one told me’. Ministry is also our way of worshiping Jehovah and proving our love. When some one has started a relationship, they tell people about it. Well tell people about the person Jehovah is, your Best friend.

Everyone is waiting for the paradise to be restored. Is that the reason we worship God? Are we making a secret non verbal deal with god- “I worship you becasue then I know you will protect me from Armmageddon and plant me in paradise” Is that selfless or selfish worship?

What is selfless worship? To love your god irrespective of whether he grants you life in a paradise or not. Becasue then we would not only appreciate this life which is a gift from God but also not be overly concerned about when the end will come.

    • SANDRA C
      August 17, 2009 at 6:03 pm | #16

That is an excellent point, Zack. True followers of Christ worship Jehovah and obey his commandments, because IT IS THE BEST WAY OF LIFE RIGHT NOW, and it gives the person real joy RIGHT NOW. If there are promised fringe benefits later (and there are), then that is great too! But Jehovah is the Sovereign Lord of the Universe, our awesome Creator! All his ways are just! Surely, he deserves our love, our praise and our worship, without strings attached! Wasn’t that Satan’s challenge … that man would only worship God for the things he can get? Stand firm, all you Witnesses of Jehovah! Let’s prove Satan a Liar!

I’d like to feel sure that surviving armageddon or living in the new world. ISN’T the only reason i serve Jehovah. Im reminded of Jonah when he had a tantrum cos Jehovah forgave ninevah and spared them. Jehovah doesnt want to destroy anyone. He will only do things like that if people are so wicked that they are beyond saving (does that make sense?)
I find that in certain counsel in the scriptures or laws i never question Jehovah. Like the blood issue. Jehovah says Not to consume blood and i say ‘Ok if you say so’ I never say ‘why not or “why should i” Jehovah created me and knows what will harm me and what wont. he has the right to set limits. He is My father and friend nothing he tells us is for his own benefit. I Want to be a JW because I’ve come to see just how wonderful Jehovah is. Look at his creation, the sunset, the stars, the moon. Do you realise thats the same moon Jesus would have seen? Of course i want to live in the paradise, we’d be so peaceful there. But i like to defend Jehovah and tell people about him etc.

Nice comment Kelly, I’m sure you’ll reach your goal.

One thing to keep in mind, is Nineveh did not have
their future written in advance for them by God.
We do. Revelation is not what God wishes to happen,
but rather, what DOES happen…future events written
        in past tense.

John sees only one group emerging after the dust
settles from the Great Tribulation. They all have
white robes, all are carrying palm fawns, and all
are seen as rendering sacred service day and night.

Here’s an assignment for you, if you’d like to accept.
Where does John speak of these ones, what are they
called, & what do the robes, palms, & sacred service
signify about them?…and finally, do you see any group
        that fits this description today?

um i havent yet done the research. (im using the revelation book in my personal study)
If im right those in the First Group picture those of the Anointed still left on Earth. Cos it seems some Of the Anointed will survive and be left on the Earth. Of what i have read some of the Anointed will recieve their heavenly assignments after Armageddon. The Robes, and Palms, These remind me of when Jesus entered Jerusalem on an ass/Donkey and the crowd praised him, they were waving palm branches and dressed Jesus in a robe. So these must picture something to do with The Kingship they will be granted.
Like i say i still need to look it up. this was just a quick response for now.
I love being quizzed on Biblical stuff.

Hi i dod research and got it all wrong lol. The GREAT Crowd John was speaking of surviving the Gt tribulation basically was us. Mainly. Those of the earthly hope, but some of the anointed are included.
The Palm branches: Symbolize our acceptance of the Messianic Kingdom, and we submit to it and of course to Jehovah.
The White robes: Emphasise that we can hold clean consciences before God thru Jesus’ blood. SO in a way we can be declared righteous before God, due to our integrity.
              Have i got that right?

                You are so precious, Kelly.

Once you have proven a teaching to
yourself by research, no one can take it
from you…ever. Now go share this gem with others.

As the convention bought out, we must keep awake spirtually, because we do not know the day nor hour Everytime some comes into the truth, that is a clap in Satan’s face, that is why he is happy when we stumble and fall. He knows his time is limited. We have to have good spirtually associate, and stay spirtually strong with the help of Jehovah through Jesus. Armaggedon is near at hand. I must build myself before Jah, no matter what Satan puts before me.

Hi to all those who love and follow Jehoavah’s Way.
I was raised as a Witness and baptized. I am not currently active but the truth has never left me and I think about it most of the time. I am hoping to return and really hope from the bottom of my heart that Jehovah can see it in himself to have mercy on me and to forgive me for being so foolish as to leave him at a very stresssful time for me, I should have thrown my burden on him at the time but I was fearful. I can only say to you, his active Witnesses, not to leave Jehovah and stick very close to him and heed his advice like the text above to read Gods Word as God’s word is the only place where you can get life sustaining Spirit in this evil Satanic system. Take care all and please stick with Jehovah, he has marvelous surprises ahead for everyone.

      Hi Jason,

Far be it from me to counsel you, but having been in a similar situation myself (though not baptized) your comment touched my heart. I was also reminded of the awesome counsel we received this summer from our “Keep On The Watch” district convention. For one thing, we were told to copy the life pattern of Noah if we wish to survive the end of this world, and we were reminded that “Noah DID just so” (Gen. 6:22). The speaker said that it is pointless to know the requirements and not do them. Don’t procrastinate. I used to think too that it was enough to read the Bible on my own and worship Jehovah in my own way. How wrong I was! I had forgotten the counsel at Hebrew’s 10:25, ‘not forsaking the gathering of ourselves together, as some have the custom, but encouraging one another, and all the more so as YOU behold the day drawing near.’ It is very important that we attend the Christian meetings! This is where Jehovah is providing directions today to his servants. And we have had some wonderful materials calling for the return of lost sheep to the fold! Even at the convention, the Sunday drama was a modern day version of ‘The Prodigal Son.’ Also, another very encouraging portion of the convention dealt with Satan’s traps for us. I wish you could have heard it. Since you probably didn’t, I will mention a relevant portion here for you. One of the traps mentioned was Inordinate Guilt (The Trap That Crushes). Here are my notes from that symposium. (In this case, I equated falling away or shrinking back with sin.)

The Trap That Crushes (inordinate guilt)
Psalm 38:3-5, 8 … excessive feelings of guilt because of a sin can crush you. Take appropriate steps now to heal your precious relationship with Jehovah!
James 5:14-16 … counsels us to get help, seek the elders’ assistance, and confess our sins.
Heb.12:5 … Do not give out when corrected by God. Accept the discipline of Jehovah. A sinner must acknowledge wrongdoing, repent, and not continue feeling guilty. The sins of ancient Jews were removed on Atonement Day, when placed on a goat and sent off. Jesus atoned for our sins. He wiped the slate clean. [“Your sins I shall not remember.”] We do not bear a mark for the rest of our lives. Our errors are not too bad to be forgiven. Jehovah forgave murderers and even apostates. The fact that you are grieved and concerned in your spirit is a sign that you have not gone too far.
Prov. 24:16 …’The righteous may fall seven times, and yet gets up.’

We were also told not to look back. Some things that might distract us included ‘A burden of guilt over past sins.’ Ours sins and guilt should be left in the past. Brooding over it saps our strength (Psalm 38:3,4). We were told, “Move ahead.” What wonderful counsel! What an awesome expression of Jehovah’s love for us! I am so grateful and thankful to Jehovah and Jesus (the head of the Christian Congregation) for the Faithful & Discreet Slave and their labors on our behalf!

Don’t wait, Jason, “turn back” and take steps to return to Jehovah now (Ezekiel 18:32)! May Jehovah bless your efforts!

      Jason,

I did the same as you. Left in 1977. Tried since 1987 to get back, but smoking kept me back. I finally was able to quit 1 year ago. I was able to do it by leaving all my friends behind and rely on Jehovah. I was baptized in March. Life is finally back the way it should be.

I was in with drugs, bikers, crime, jail for years. If I can do it, so can you. You wil never make a better choice in your life and never feel better.

      Hi Jason,
Don’t despair, Jehovah sees your heart and understands your motives. We are all dust even as our God and Father is aware. Trust in Him, come to the meetings and watch His spirit draw you to a fullness of joy and satisfaction. Nothing this world has to offer can compare to the happiness that comes from serving Jehovah. Believe me, having been disfellowshipped, I can tell from personal experience the lonliness and pain that come from being alienated from the love that flows freely on a spiritual level in the congregation. Of course we must be mindful of the counsel to watch how we walk and with WHOM we walk, even among those serving Jehovah as there are NO PERFECT PEOPLE today…

May our the God of mercy and undeserved kindness encourage you to stand solid in the faith, even as you continue to add to it and find the footing even as a child does who learns to take his very first steps…remember Jehovah will never allow the righeous one to totter and the righeous one may fall seven times but he certainly GETS UP! So get off your tush and into the hall :)

      With love,
      Miss M

There will be times in the future where we will have to ask Jehovah to provide the things we need to keep living and he will provide them just as he did in Joshua’s day. We will also see Jehovah taking care of us as the Great Tribulation comes on us, we can be assured of that. Jehovah is a great God and loving to his people.

I am being reminded of doing good to fellow brothers and sisters, in the congregation, i want to look out for those less previledge to lend a helping hands to them as Jehovah will not decend from heaven to do so but rather through me and other fellow worshippers. Also, lending involves not only giving material here, but also spiritually, that means i want to look out for others who are lacking spiritually and think of way to support them and when we all do so, the wicked one Satan will not have any hold on us because we carrying the burden of one another. and Jehovah will bless our effort.

Today makes me think of how the Israelites initially followed Jehovahs’s directions; only later to think independently. This is something we all should ponder and meditate on; so to never follow only some of the direction from the faithful slave.

I like the image of Jehovah fighting on our weak side, covering for us where we are vulnerable and exposed.

It’s true we take courage because of all the witnesses that have passed before us; between them there is no problem they haven’t faced and conquered…. Sarah, leaving her beautiful home to travel with her husband, Leah, not feeling loved, Hannah wanting a baby and waiting, waiting, … Esther risking everything to identify herself with God’s people, Bathsheba losing her baby and no doubt blaming herself, Abigail married to a stupid man but making do… Deborah willing to go to the front line and risk her life to support the king…

I try and take courage and remember, all these women had Jehovah fighting by their side and so do I.

If we meditate on the lives of the people from the bible just like the comments suggest we can have Jehovah’s protection. It’s quite simple when you really think about it. However, just thinking about it isn’t going to help. By actually putting into action our results from meditating can we truly be happy. I thought that this text really reinforced the love that I have for Jehovah to put Him first in everything that I do. And with what Danielle said about wanting things in this system but everything already lost. I sometimes forget as well and need the reminder to not get to involved with anything from this system.

Michael Jackson was just another human being who may or may not be resurrected. Jehovah is not moved by “stardom”, fame, talent, or fortune. 1 Samuel 16:7 notes, “… mere man sees what appears to the eyes, but as for Jehovah, he sees what the heart is.”

What a thrilling time we are living in, it will be wonderful to reign with Jesus Christ in the heavens. We can’t wait until Jehovah’s name is vindicated and the earth is restored to a paradise and the ressurection will begin of the righteous and unrighteous.

Last August riding home from work on my scooter I had a severe liver failure.

I had a varices vein burst in my throat. I was rushed to the hospital and I can remember only the Doctor telling me the following. “You have two choices, take blood or die” I told him I would not accept blood and I would be back in the resurrection.

I went into a coma for 6 weeks the prognosis was bleak.

My wife and family were told I would not live and to prepare my funeral. After 3 days a second attempt to stop the internal bleeding was successful. That day begin a long road back to recovery and many nights in the hospital floor and waiting room for my wife, 4 sons and sister and brother in law from Colorado. I eventually came out of the coma and I am back to work today.

I will be on some meds for the rest of my life and I have physical limitations. But I do appreciate the text for today in James 4:14. We are mist, and in a few moments we can be gone. I always wondered if when faced with a life and death decision how I would react.

I can assure you the decision to stay faithful was as easy as the choice of “Cream and sugar in your coffee sir?” Our Bible trained heart takes over and Jehovah’s spirit helps us thru. Never under estimate the value of the daily text.

Thank you for posting this inspiring experience brother, I like your reference to “as easy as cream and sugar in your coffee” . Jehovah will give us the strength when needed.

      Dear Brother,
Your experience is very inspiring. I hope, when our time comes we can make our stand the same way You did.
      I wish You Jehova’s blessing

Psalms again unifies this theme with the conditions of these last days at Psalms 92:7, “When the wicked ones sprout as the vegetation, And all the practicers of what is hurtful blossom forth, It is that they may be annihilated forever.” Br.ralph zamorano.

This text really hits home. Where else can we go to receive these life giving messages. We so appreciate the brothers who pass on the spiritual food, and it is always so timely. So many of us have come out of the world, and we know that there is nothing out there. We all thank you.

Today’s text, Phil. 3:8, really goes straight to the point for me. It’s so easy to start making choices about what I want in this system of things and forgetting that everything in this system of things is already lost.

Thank you! Only from the Anointed of Jehovah do we get the proper understanding of these scriptures. Thank Jehovah for his patience and undeserved mercy in giving us the time to get our lives in order and help so many others do the same! Time is running out and soon those forces will be unleashed! Urgency is needed on our part!
