A calm heart is life to the fleshly organism.

STRESS- None of us are immune.
Stress comes from so many sources
    1) Satanic air in this system
    2)Eaking out a living -
    3)age,disease,health, death of loved ones

4)Even good stress can place wear and tear on your body!Even pioneering to save lives.

What are we to do?Keep a calm heart ;How? Constant reliance on Jehovah. The harder trials become ; try to remember Apostle Paul’s words that helps us keep the bigger picture in view-…looking to the things ahead …things suffered now monetary and light compared to the joy before us.Keep your eyes on the prize. Remember Jehovah never leaves us entirely. Pray incessantly and pour our hearts out to Him; Read the Bible and do so out loud-hear and see ;Yes it is okay to beg!Jehovah wants us cry to Him,talk to Him,petition Him. Yes ; Satan doesn’t care if we suffer but he does when we talk to Him. What a wonderful God ; who we can call on anytime and show we want and need Him!

    Of course we need sleep, healthy diet , follow Dr.’s orders, help others, Learn to say no-”Id love too but I can’t” Feel guilty-send a card expressing.your regret but hope to contribute or return favor. Take few minutes a day for ” me” Jesus sought moments solitude to meditate ; pray- Dont be angry; easily provoked ;
If busy schedule crushing you STOP Take a deep breath- go to nearby corner store look at items. Go to a mall
sit and observe people Be surprised at how hilarious humans can be and appreciating Jehovah all the more. Feel Jehovah isn’t answering prayers ? I advocate everyone should keep a journal ; even concerns of prayers – when the grey clouds lift-read Journal from beginning and will see Jehovah is helping all the time. Writing is therapeutic and does help put things in perspective. Most important info to know and remember should be written in blue. If using computer to write- use black background and type in white letters. Studies suggest that doing this triggers the brain to solve in methodical and therfore yields more healthy thought process and better problem solving.

Avoid persistent pessimistic people. Smile even if you don’t want to. Takes more muscles to frown than to smile.
Remember there IS a solution to every problem!
Know your limitations; Pray for wisdom to use your strength in most productive way.! Pray!

Never underestimate the power of prayer.

Yesterday was a bad day, exhausted, and had 12 hour shift to work. Yes I was crying and prayed to endure ( even though I had rather stayed home. Prayed while getting dressed and prayed the whole drive commuting.
I arrived to work and chaos reigned. Went to ladies room prayed in all earnest to endure. Stepped back in unit; ??? Could hear a pin drop! Extra nurse come rushing in mistakenly thought she was scheduled. Overtime is a no no but was cleared for her to stay. Because of change in assignment, I had little work to do til I remembered my prayer. I thanked Jehovah and was so relieved because I was feeling a little fragile. Well there was important work to do; co-worker was sad and she shared – her husband was dead and she was missing him terribly. I had my small Bible and I shared resurrection hope and I also warned her from scriptures as she said her daughter stated he visited her and gave a message for her! I showed her scriptures explaining the condition of the dead. She was so uplifted and again I thank Jehovah and ended my conversation telling her about Jehovah and importance of His name. She stated belief in trinity and answered her with a question? When Jesus surrendered his spirit ; who was it that recieved it? Himself? Then Discussed model prayer- She was so thrilled when I shared scriptures in Matthews about good news of the Kingdom and she just was so overjoyed. She then admitted she prayed for guidance. Hope I planted seeds to grow and she said she will have witnesses come into her home and plans to start a study. I offered to contact someone for her; She said was no need cause she will just pray for a witness she turned away to come back. Asked where could she get a Bible like mine? I gave her my Bible on one condition .. She was to read it daily. Agreed . Thoroughly used Bible placed. :-). !!!!!!!!!
Feel like I can just live forever !!

Wonderful experience and encouragement Sandra 123. Wow….I am in awe! Isn’t it amazing how when we feel we are at our wits end Jehovah comes to our rescue? And look how giving and self-sacrificing you were to someone in their hour of need….despite your own pain of heart. There truly is “more happiness in giving than in receiving”, because in sharing waters of truth with your co-worker…..YOU were refreshed! Isn’t that amazing? If you gave someone a glass of “literal” water, would it refresh you as well? No, and that’s the beauty of spiritual waters of truth…..all involved are refreshed.
Thank you for sharing your day with us :) love to you Sandra

Sandra, this in-season thing bugs me. (hehehe!) I love to eat a large dish of cubed watermelon every morning with my breakfast … and now I cannot get watermelon, because it is out-of-season. UGH!

I see you are very busy on this Healthy Living page, Sandra. I agree with all the fine information you’ve presented here … you give much better advise than any doctor I’ve known. :) And, you’re right … they are trained to treat symptoms/diseases not causes. :) I love prevention/ treating the causes.

    Ginger Tea
all you need is piece of ginger root;peeled and sliced thinly
Aids digestion and mild tonic for digestive system.
Take boiling water and pour over chopped ginger on sieve cloth or tea bags or strainer.Immerse about a minute or so and remove and dispose of ginger.
Add honey if you like. Will have weak taste but loads of benefits. If like stronger use more ginger-Longer ginger steeps more bitter it becomes.
You will have to adjust amount of ginger to your taste. Can add lemon too!

I have a cup of warm water w/lemon (for sinuses) and I also drink ginger tea for digestion. I never thought to add them together, I will do that in the mornings from now on. The best is as you have stated Sandra, buying fresh ginger and slice off some small pieces 2 or 3 (according to your preference) and put in a cup and pour hot water over it, and let steep for 3-4 min. You can then discard the ginger. You have shared so many nice tips, Sandra, thankyou so much. :)

If you are having chronic problems with sinusitis rhinitis -Quercetin works well without drying and is cheap-derived from food! I take it for seasonal flare-ups. Doesn’t interfere or have side effects like other preparations. Vit C and anti-inflammatory diet dies wonders. ;-)

Meant to add that Ginger root has antiviral and antibacterial properties.

Lavendar oil is known for restful effects. Sorry can’t remember whom, interestingly a man in France during the influenza outbreak did not get sick! It was believed because of Lavendar oil from the plants native to that area was used to shine his boots and whatever it could be used even drinking tea of lavendar. It was reported he loved the fragrance of lavendar. A biologist that studied this stated that species of lavendar was studied and did find it had remarkable flu fighting properties. I do remember he and the ones that prepared the plants and extractsd the oils a d one who applied the oils lived also wbe everyone was decimated.

Beauty Tip: Great for all skin types! Will not clog pores! Also removes make-up effortlessly!

Organic coconut oil. Can get huge jar for about $10.00. It smells great. I would use disposable tongue blades or applicators. Use as you would any make up remover or apply on freshly cleaned face ; wipe away and follow with toner.
Natural toner is Witch Hazels oil. Not caustic to skin and is great astringent.

Drink plenty if water-,limit caffeine-caffeine is vasoconstrictive.

If you have problems with puffy eyes- cool compresses applied helps. Chamomile tea bags steeped in cool water applied damp to closed eyes speeds up process of smdecreasing swelling.

When using herbs topicslly or internally there are some things to be aware of : allergies and if on prescription meds or preparing for minor or major surgery-??? Will post later! Hope this helps.

Regards coughing. If you have productive cough- it is beneficial in helping to expectorate and rid mucous. If coughing is excessive then you may want to suppress. It is common for folks to want to quick fix with over the counter medicines. Think-if you take them then drying up your membranes then you end up with secondary infection requiring antibiotics. It is best to work with your body’s natural defenses.
There are occasions where we can’t avoid them.
If you have to take antibiotics or want to build your immune system here is something else that works well.
    Don’t take while on antibiotics.
Probiotics-I favor a brand made in Canada. It is live and active cultures that are taken in capsule form and had to be refrigerated. It promotes healthy intestinal flora. Boosts immune system at a cellular level. Despite the directions-double the doses when fighting an illness as diarrhea, body ache or if under more stress than usual. or just need a boost to your immune system then resume according to directions. If you have had cancer or any type problem affecting your immune system-not a bad idea to take regularly. If generally healthy take package til complete. Buy in a health food store in the fridge section- spelling ends in rro-don’t want to be
accused of promoting a product. If you are prone to constipation,it would be a good idea to look at liver cleanse then move on to getting the plumbing in working order.
Liver and stomach is key to better absorption of nutrients and therefore better health.

Serotonin is in our guts-stomach- so if you are ones on Zantac, Prilosec,Prevacid and Nexium and feeling a little depressed-stop these meds and notice your mood will lift. Wonder how these medicines play a role in heart attacks. I’ll give you a case scenario:
Miss Heartburn has been taking Prilosec for about two months and today reports being constipated and she begin having chest pains, nausea and sweating. She immediately goes to emergency room. She is having mild heart attack and is stablized. Her and is firm with diminished bowel sounds. She has taken her Prilosec everyday. Where is all this Prilosec? Sitting in her stomach in lability/dormant with stomach acids neutral so to
speak. Therefore she is given enema to get plumbing going and what happens next is she has an anxiety attack because of Prilosec overdose or she has somnient mood-dull-flat affect,asthenia-generalized tiredness or weakness. If it decrease acid level then it decreases work on liver. If liver is not stimulated to work then you have build up of toxins. The body needs to clear waste-it does this through liver kidneys intestines and sweating-skin and even respirations-.It can cause cardiac arrest- Over the counter drugs are nothing to play with or take lightly. Flaxseed oil is great for calming stomach acids.

      Dear Sandra 123
Just digesting (no pun intended) your advice.
I am on “Lansoprazole” (which I have just internet searched to find is Prilosec)and I am also on “Fluoxetine”(Prozac).
Your phrase “somnient mood-dull-flat affect,asthenia-generalized tiredness or weakness” just really hit me, and the bit about cardiac arrest.
I have been doubting the Lansoprazole which I have been on and off for years, but not knowing why.
Personal advice I would like to give to brothers and sisters…is beware of trying to cope with situations (health or emotional) with alcohol.
By regularly having a drink at night, I gave myself “inflammation of the pancreas”, and have suffered ever since.
I have heard about flaxseed oil before, but I will now definitely give it a go.
Also, I will further research Probiotics, because I daily eat natural yogurt and I want to see if there is a difference.
      So thanks Sandra123,
      Sian

        Hi Sian,
If you are not diabetic I think you would benefit by juicing. If you are having problems with your pancreas more than likely your liver need detoxifying.
To be at your best or anyone to be at their best is to learn to eat diet that is best ofr you.I am not meaning to go on crazy diet.Sometimes it is good to give your body help that it needs.First of all anyone having to take Prilosec ex. should ask his or herself why when did their stomachs start giving problems.Ironically as we get older some acids dont produce as they used to and yet the doctors give you Prilosec.Even as we get older our taste buds for salty and spiced foods etc diminishes but the one for sweets the buds on our tongues slower to decline-explains why older people crave or favor sweets because that is what can be tasted. I would get organic carrots and juice enough for a cup(approximately 2-3 medium carrots) everyday morning and evening.Carrots has the ability to help your liver repair itself and correct its own enzymes. Understand that Doctors do not have nutrition as part of their studies as to how to enhance health but how to treat disease rather than the underlying cause.
Also watch video on walking-it does wonders for exercise.Breathe deep into your nose and breathe out-oxygenation is very important.Drink distilled water a few days to get clear.Distilled water does not have clorine etc and is obtained via distillation. And if you want to share any diet dilemmas let me know how I can help.Avoid coffee and resume but only if tolerated. All sodas are a no-no.Diet sodas are causing more havoc on ones digestive system than realized.Chewing gum is gas producing and have actually seen ones come to emergency room because of gas pains and thought they were having a heart attack. It is true. She was in severe pain.Another culprit are aspirins Motrin=ibuprofens.Tylenol is terrible on the liver=Tylenol with wine over period of time causes liver cancer.
If you help our liver you help your pancreas but if you are diabetic let me know then I would recommend parsley.Carrots can and will elvate blood sugars.
If you have had days being restless and dont know why,are you eating foods with Tryptophan-it is found in turkey meat and if I remember correctly pineapple.
I always recommend anyone to keep a journal of what they ate and what they did and how they felt.Be surprised how you can find connections to what you are eating.I was with a co-worker when she came and showed me where she had broke out in a rash on side of her face–Culprit was intermittent air freshener dispensers where she was standing it happened to mist.Later we learned it was combined to have air freshener and insect repellant! This is a healthcare facility and several of these are on each hall or corridor and basically everywhere you could see one.
Would I be imposing if I ask why you were placed on Prozac. Antidepressants are used for their pain relieving properties as well but should be short-term.I hope I was of some assistance to you.

Thank you for your rely Sandra 123,
I was diagnosed with clinic depression 2003.
I saw a psychiatrist, went to anxiety classes, did research on diet, exercise, positive thinking and any thing else linked with depression, nothing worked, so I then went on Prozac.
Every time I come off Prozac I feel depressed again.

I feel as the women quoted in our “Comfort for the Depressed” tract -”However, sometimes it is impossible to defeat depression completely, even when everything has been tried, including medical therapies. “I have tried everything” a middle-aged women said, “but the depression remains.”

It all started when I began to have chronic backache.
I went from regular meetings, ministry, secular work and aerobic classes to virtually nothing.
So I now have chronic backache and depression.
The digestive problems started after trying to cope with my back and depression.
I followed the “Sandra Cabot-Liver Diet(an Australian doctor), and still try to follow the principles of it.
I think it is now, just a matter of enduring my health problems, but refining and updating
when I find relevant information which I can use.
          Again, thanks for reply.

I forgot to mention WT article-
Signs of heart attack–I had forgotten that abdominal pain can be signs of heart attack. If your father / mother has history of heart or coronary artery disease-you are at risk.A good read.Women dont have usual signs like chest arm pain etc.Women hurt int their stomachs or backs.Increased fatigue too! Most symptoms are not classic book symptoms. There are two types other symptoms
1)Idiosyncrasy..symptoms unique to individual. Ex.Miss Cough takes cough medicine with codeine ordered by her family DR..About fifteen minutes she begins moving arms about and oddly starts dancing and saying I’m a ballerina!O hears or sees floating images.Because of her unique chemistry only specific to her.

2)Atypical..common in the elderly..Most males or females get pneumonia or urinary tract infection will have usual flank pain /pain leg aches or blood in the urine or urgency with pain with void. Elderly have mental changes by having crying spells or being confused,irrational,combative/become anxious-but will deny having the typical symptoms.

Yogurt has acidophilus- probiotics have numerous healthy bacteria to improve intestinal flora.Don’t get freeze dried etc. It has to be refrigerated to keep stable. You mentioned back problems- did you injure your back?

Clarifying use of white vinegar and water. For sanitizing your home. Doorknobs, countertops toys etc. Vinegar’s strong scent will clear and can speed it up by usung vanilla mist.
Better if one begins showing signs of illness , it is good idea to sanitize immediately even telephones, keyboards etc-areas frequently used or traffic areas in your home even automobiles.
When ones have had respiratory illness etc.-good idea to dispose of and replace to avoid reinfection.
Clothing linen need to be laundered.

Local-organic honey is not for small children 2years and under-they are unable to break down natural occuring bacteria found in honey.

I do not recommend giving this to children.

However elixirs means alcohol is used to promote absorption of medicine.

    Is this helpful?

    Golden Rule
Frequent handwashing is best prevention against spreading germs.

Avoid dairy if have mucous producing cough and infections as they add to thickening of secretions. Objective is to keep thin and expectorate.

Avoid taking Vit C and Zinc together. Zinc cancels effectiveness of Vit C.
Echinacea is helpful but should take no longer than two weeks-can be toxic to liver. Simply take week off two weeks on.

Ginger Ale is helpful for nausea but better if warmed.

    PRINCIPLES FOR HEALTHY LIVING

Here is a thought to ponder: Jehovah God is the Source of the Bible’s principles for living. Some of these are:

You reap what you sow. — Galatians 6:7.
There is more happiness in giving than there is in receiving. — Acts 20:35.
Happiness depends on satisfying spiritual needs. — Matthew 5:3.

If you put these principles to work in your life, you can be confident that they will prove true for you.
